Keep quantities easy to compare
Record both the number of packs and the number of items in each pack. For regularly used supplies, distinguish the quantity for one workstation from the quantity needed across a whole facility. Consistent units make a replenishment list easier to review.
Read the label beyond the product name
Size, material, packaging and single-use or reusable labeling can distinguish otherwise similar products. Where a specification requires a particular feature, confirm it in the product documentation. A category name or photograph alone is not enough to establish a match.
Plan for storage and replenishment
Check package dimensions and any stated storage conditions before allocating shelf space. Where expiration or lot information applies, include it in your receiving checklist. Keeping the exact SKU with the supply location helps avoid ambiguity when the next replenishment is prepared.
